Connecting Kin

The key focus of Connecting Kin is keeping children and young people connected to family members (this includes grandparents, siblings, Aunties, Uncles, cousin and other significant family members) and ensuring that children and young people have an opportunity to connect to their family and culture.

Equipping Kin

Completing Provisional Assessments, Initial Kinship Assessments and Renewal Kinship Assessments for prospective and approved kinship carers.

Supporting Kin

Provide ongoing placement support to approved Kinship carer households by carer training, continuous learning opportunities, regular home support visits, accessing respite (short breaks), advocating and supporting kinship carers and providing brokerage funding if necessary.
