Coolamon Connections Healing Program

The Coolamon Connections-Healing Program believe that all families should be free from violence.

About the program

Our service is built on the understanding that within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities domestic family and sexual violence (DFSV) is driven by unique factors, including the effects of colonisation, racism, intergenerational trauma and the regional remote locations of our families. These issues require a different approach than mainstream responses to DFSV.

This program prioritises giving families the freedom to choose their own path to recovery.

Coolamon Connections team acknowledges and respects kinship structure within families. We also recognise the vital role women hold within their families and the importance of keeping children safe.
